Society+ Lookbook and GIVEAWAY

Look at all of these adorable photos!!!! I got the opportunity to shoot with Society+ this week and it was a blast! As most of you know, I’m pretty vocal about my displeasure with a lot of plus size retailers. I’m not a fashion Goddess, I’m just a babe running a little ootd blog who wants retailers to pull their head out of their asses and start giving us what we deserve. That’s what Society+ is about. Head-out-of-ass consciousness.

Their current goal is to talk about #FashionFreedom and what that means to their customers. Bellies out? Yes. Showing lots of leg? Absolutely. Letting your arms be free to move? Gimme. That attitude absolutely shined through while I was working with them. I imagined my first time “modeling” was going to be some painful thing where I was told to contort my body, wear clothes that didn’t fit, and make sure my chin was tucked in and I wasn’t really smiling. I was scared, to say the least.

Plus size clothing on websites, does not look like the plus size clothing that hangs on my body. I don’t wear spanx (I literally had to borrow a bra from the Society+ co-founder just to do the photoshoot), I don’t know how to pose my body to look acceptably fat, and i certainly don’t want to be photoshopped into a different shape. But here I was, shooting for a clothing company, that actually wanted me to look like ME. They didn’t suck me in, or edit me, they just let me be who I am in some real cute clothes.
