PLUS SIZE JACKETS FOR FALL

Raise your hand if you have gone countless seasons without a good plus size jacket because you could never find one in your size!!! Yep. Me too. I have spent literal years being colder than I needed to be because no plus size jackets fit my arms. May I take your coat Miss? No, no you may not. Because I don’t have one. Because not being able to reach up above my head, or stretch out my arms to drive just didn’t sound very fun today. So here I am without a coat to give you… and possible hypothermia. Actually, do you have a coat? I’m like… super cold.

If you’ve never been fat you’ve probably never considered that you might actually have to go without essential clothing. But most plus size babes know the struggle of searching for a blazer, or winter boots, a swimsuit or snow suit, or even a damn sports bra. We figure out ways to work around the obstacles that clothing manufacturers put in front of us. I run from my car to whatever indoor shelter I can find when it’s cold or raining out (yeah rain boots aren’t easy to find either!), and don’t even think about a possible outing to go sledding down a hill. Ok, it’s actually sad now that I type it all out. It’s not just sad, it’s bullshit. And if you’re in the same position I’ve been in, remember that it’s not your fault that the world won’t make space for you.

So maybe I won’t be able to find a full on snow suit to go sledding in this season (unless I want to wear farmer’s coveralls, which are honestly kind of cute), but I can definitely start to accumulate a couple plus size jackets. And you can too if you’d like. We’re finally starting to see some pretty cool styles come out, and many of them even go above a size 28! Hallelujah! Let’s check them out….

Have any favorites, yet? Have I increased your excitement for the cool weather? Are you feeling like you have to run to an apple orchard or pumpkin patch and light a cinnamon candle???

I’ll have a post for winter coats up at the end of November. For now, let’s take in the cool crisp autumn weather, and that amazing space between sweating our asses off, and freezing to death.

I didn't know I needed an aviator jacket but HERE WE ARE!

Yes. My husband is very slim (in fact we have the same problem in that most stores don't carry either of our sizes) and constantly getting onto me about never wearing my coat. I have one. One. But it's only comfortable to wear if I never have to use my arms. Even driving is a challenge as my arms are pinned down.

Thank you for this post!

I Love the black jacket jacket you have on in the top picture. Is that a black version of the Torrid Jacket? What size are your wearing? Absolutely killing it with that look?
