Oh the Great Suede Skirt Search of 2015. I have tried 5 different suede pieces, and let me tell you something, I thought it just wasn’t going to happen. Then, the skies opened up one day and viola, Chubby Cartwheels launched their newest line and my plus size suede skirt dreams came true.

I’m having a hell of a time feeling inspired by my wardrobe lately. All I want to wear is black. I never wear black in warm months. I wear flowy white things and pretty floral pieces, that’s kind of my “thing”. I’ve realized recently that I’m slightly scared to change up my style on this blog. I am not totally sure what I’m worried about, but I think I’m a little fearful that everyone is here for one thing and won’t like if I show them something else. I realize that is a bit silly. My blog is about my journey to body positivity through my ever changing plus size style. I think it’s pretty natural to want to change things up and try new things, and I think it’s stylish to wear darker clothes. So I’m going to work on letting that fear go. I get to change up my style any time I want, and I’m going to let my blog reflect that.

What better way to try out my new “wanna wear all black all the time” mood than with this little ensemble? I love the texture that this fake suede skirt adds to my outfit. It’s femme and flowy, but looks so cool and chic at the same time. And god damn it’s comfortable. You know the problem with suede? It doesn’t stretch! You know the great thing about this skirt? It DOES! I get all the benefit of the suede look and none of the constricting bullshit (like the button popping constriction of the skirt in this video). The best part? When I decide I want to be a flowy flower princess again, this skirt will transition seamlessly!

What are some of your favorite transitional pieces? Do you start wearing darker clothes in the Winter?

Skirt – Chubby Cartwheels
Shirt – Fashion To Figure
Tights – City Chic (not especially comfortable, not my fave pair of tights. I’ll let you know when I find a GREAT pair!)
Jacket – Similar
Shoes – Avenue
Handbag – Fashion To Figure
